7 poorshools ofi Minoi, moteaisn i utonomous Ptu, Sihun povine Asuayin, female, Yi minority, 12 years old. “I live in Daxing Village, Lizi Township, Xide County. I was born here. Our family farms for generations.” She said, “My father farms every day. We earn little, living on a two-acre plough. It was too expensive to afford my tuition fee. It was solved by the reliance on the fee reduction of the school and government subsidies. Moreover, my mother had heart disease. We tried to take her to doctors but nothing they could do. So she could only be a housewife rather than going out to work. My father had to take care of family. Unfortunately, my mother passed away. My father always told me that we should live with aspiration although we were poor. He told me I must study hard so that I could leave here to do something more valuable. So I put my faith at that time that I would study hard so that my father would be proud of me. I remember it all the time. Only if I study hard, we could have a way to change the fate. It is winter now, and it is getting colder. But I feel so gratedful and get warmed up, because I get clothes from Operation Blessing again.” There are some children in Chenguang Primary School from poor families. Some of their parents got divorced. There are two brothers whose father has intermittent psychotic symptoms. The family could not afford the treatment fee for their father. Two years ago, their mother left because she could not bear the pressure of family anymore. At that time, the elder son was 7 years old and the younger was only 4 years old. They often went begging from their neighbors. They were in two ragged coats, bare feet. Neighbors could do nothing after seeing this but find the brothers’ grandmother back, who remarried to other place. Now, even though their grandmother has moved back to a place nearby, she still cannot take care of them well. They all face living difficulties. When we gave them new clothes, the elder boy asked me excitedly,“ can I really own the clothes? I haven’t got any new clothes for three years!” at that moment, we felt so sad and sympathetic about it.

2 Poor Shools,in Lintou county, Ruo Rongxia, a third-grade student in Kangjiaji Primary School. Rongxia’s family is very poor. Her mother passed away when she was in the kindergarten. Her father, who has mental disease, works outside the village. Her grandmother, who is getting old and often ill, is the only person who can look after her. Rongxia always wears with ragged clothes to go to school. It is already so chilly here in November. Many students have thick clothes to warm up, except Rongxia. She is trembling in the classroom with a freezing face after two-kilometer walking distance. Her teacher gave her more clothes specially that day so that she could have spare clothes to change. Rongxia was smiling when she held the clothes

Xinyu deaf children school.

There is an outgoing girl named Guo Xinghua here. Her mother is deaf-mute. After she was born, her father left home when he was told that his daughter was a deaf child. Xinghua does not know what her father looks like at all. She and her mother live with her grandmother. With the poor living condition and ill body of her grandmother, her family do not have extra money to buy new clothes for Xinghua. Xinghua always wears the second-hand clothes abandoned by others. She was really happy when she was dressed up by the new clothes donated. She said to the teacher every time about the beautiful new clothes. Actually, there are many children like Xinhua in this school. These families have to afford them to the school under the serious financial problem. These children always wear the clothes abandoned by people. When children were in new clothes, they could not help but trying more. They could not express how excited they were. We were glad to see children’s happy faces. These clothes look like ordinary clothes for others, but for these deaf children, they are love, the love which can company them to grow up forever.
